To support your labor and birth at The Birth Center, our birthing team typically includes a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), a Doula, and an RN (Registered Nurse).
The Midwife's goal is to help you have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience, as she supports your labor, manages any issues arising in labor, and helps you birth your baby and ensures your immediate postpartum time is normal without need of further intervention.
The Doula’s role is to provide emotional and physical comfort support during your labor. She may also make suggestions in consultation with the CNM for positions or activities that can help your labor.
The RN’s role is to monitor you and baby, and provide support and education to you during your postpartum recovery at The Birth Center, before being released to your home.
